Our Technicians - FAQ | Dependable Energy
    Frequently Asked Questions
    Are Dependable Energy technicians background-checked?
Yes. All Dependable Energy technicians undergo background screening as part of our hiring and onboarding process. We take the trust homeowners place in us by inviting our team into their homes very seriously, and hiring standards reflect that responsibility.
What qualifications do Dependable Energy technicians hold?
Our HVAC technicians are fully licensed in the state of Connecticut and hold all certifications required for the services they perform, including EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling. Our Heil Elite Dealer status requires ongoing factory training that keeps our technicians current on the latest equipment and installation standards.
Will I always get the same technician for service calls?
We make every effort to assign consistent technicians to recurring service appointments when possible, as we know continuity matters to homeowners. However, for emergency calls and high-volume periods, the first available qualified technician will be dispatched to get to you as quickly as possible.
How long have the technicians been with Dependable Energy?
Many of our team members have been with Dependable Energy for years, which reflects the stability and culture of the company. Long-tenured technicians build deep familiarity with the homes and equipment they service regularly, which translates into better and faster diagnoses on service calls.
Can I request a specific technician for my service appointment?
Yes. If you have worked with a specific technician and prefer to have them return, let us know when you schedule your appointment. We will do our best to accommodate the request based on their availability and your service area.
Does the team handle both installations and repairs, or are those separate crews?
Our technicians are cross-trained in both installation and service work. Larger installation projects may involve a dedicated installation crew, while service and repair calls are handled by our service technicians. All crews operate under the same licensing, training, and quality standards.
    Snowy driveway
    !

Ice and snow-covered driveways, walkways and paths present a real hazard to oil and propane trucks, along with their drivers. These conditions can make it impossible for us to deliver oil or propane to your home when scheduled.

Please maintain a 10' wide path in your driveway, clear of ice and snow, for our trucks.

A path should be cleared to your oil and propane fill location to ensure safe access and uninterrupted delivery service.

Thank you for your business and for your cooperation!
